Most youth athletes spend hours on skill work but never learn how to produce and control speed. This program focuses on the mechanics and force qualities that actually transfer to game play.
This program is for 4th–8th grade athletes who are serious about getting faster, moving better, and being ready for the next level—not just “getting some extra work in.”
It’s built for the kid who:
❌ Is tired of being a step behind teammates and opponents
❌ Wants to stop getting beat in races, fast breaks, loose balls, or transitions
❌ Has never really been taught how to run, only told to “run faster”
❌ Feels awkward or unsure with their footwork, coordination, or body control
❌ Is getting ready for modified sports and doesn’t want to just “hope” they make the team
❌ Needs more strength, speed, and confidence to match their effort and love for the game
Perfect for athletes who are:
✅ On the bubble for tryouts and need an edge
✅ Naturally behind in speed but willing to work
✅ Already playing travel or school sports but want to separate from the pack
✅ Has natural abilities in the sport but needs work on speed and performance
✅ Playing “all the time” but not seeing that translate into speed or explosiveness
FIT | STRENGTH Performance is Fairport’s home for serious athlete development. My name is Mark Bruce, owner and head coach, and I’ve been training athletes for more than 15 years. I grew up in this community, competed at a high level, and built FIT | STRENGTH to give young athletes the coaching, structure, and development I wish I had as a kid.
Since opening our doors in 2019, we’ve helped hundreds of athletes jump higher, run faster, move better, and build real confidence in their bodies. Parents trust us because we deliver results—and our 150+ 5-star reviews reflect that.
And now, through our partnership with Turf Barn, we’re able to offer athletes far more than a traditional “weight room” program. We’ve expanded our training to include dedicated speed development—true acceleration work, mechanics, and game-speed movement training—giving athletes the complete performance system they actually need to thrive in today’s game.
If your athlete wants to not only get stronger but truly get faster, this is the team built to make it happen.

A clear, progressive structure that builds efficient mechanics and real‑world speed.
Phase 1
Dynamic Phase
Prep that matters: coordination, mobility, joint stiffness, and rhythm. Athletes learn how to warm up like pros so each rep builds speed rather than fatigue.
Phase 2
Position Phase
Body angles, shin position, and ground contact. We lock in sprint posture and arm action so speed becomes repeatable.
Phase 3
Force / Power Phase
Age‑appropriate plyometrics and resisted sprint work to increase the force an athlete can put into the ground for faster acceleration.
Phase 4
Game Speed Phase
Reactive drills, deceleration, and change‑of‑direction patterns that mirror real sport so speed shows up when it counts.
